Rebar Couplers

Threading of rebar is a three-step process:

1. Rebar is saw cut to eliminate any nibs
2. Rebar is quenched to increase its diameter prior to threading
3. Rebar is threaded to allow a coupler to be screwed on

The use of couplers has several advantages:

1. The splice is stronger than a rebar lap
2. Reduced rebar congestion resulting in increased cover
3. Faster construction time due to ease of installation
4. Seismic resistance in concrete structures
